Cochrane Wolves FC Youth Development Programs Overview

Ages 0-5 Years – MiniWolves Introduction Program

Intro to MiniWolves Program: At the earliest stages, our MiniWolves Introduction Program is designed to ignite a love for physical activity and soccer in toddlers. This program provides a fun and unstructured environment where children ages 0 to 5 can begin exploring physical literacy. Through engaging activities, little athletes get their first touches on the ball, learning the basics of ball mastery, dribbling, and turning with a strong focus on individual skills.

Skill Development in MiniWolves: As part of the MiniWolves program, we also offer sessions that introduce structured skill development in a positive and engaging atmosphere. Even our youngest players start learning the technical aspects of dribbling, running with the ball, and ball-striking. The program is crafted to encourage individual actions and promote an early understanding of the game through enjoyable small-sided games.

Ages 8-12 Years – Skill Centre Program

Skill-Centre Program: For players aged 8 to 12, our Skill-Centre Program is designed to deepen their soccer proficiency in a dynamic and enjoyable environment. The program introduces competitive elements while continuing to focus on refining movement skills. Children learn advanced techniques in ball handling both in and out of possession, master transitions, and are introduced to basic tactical concepts. Their game understanding is enhanced through formats such as 5v5, 7v7, and 9v9 games, preparing them for higher levels of play.

Ages 13-18 Years – Youth Soccer Programs

PLAY | Soccer 4 Life – In-House / Recreational: As players grow into their teenage years, from 13 to 18, our PLAY | Soccer 4 Life program emphasizes continued development through 11v11 formats. This stream is focused on creating positive experiences that foster a lifelong love for soccer. The environment is socially enriching and fun, with an emphasis on both individual and group challenges, keeping the spirit of competition alive while prioritizing enjoyment and sportsmanship.

COMPETE | Train to Compete – Competitive Program: For those looking to sharpen their competitive edge, the COMPETE | Train to Compete program emphasizes winning and giving 100%. This competitive pathway focuses on refining technical and tactical skills, introducing players to position-specific roles and responsibilities, and addressing the physiological demands of soccer. Training is tailored to develop these areas comprehensively, ensuring players are well-prepared for competitive scenarios.

PERFORM | Train to Train – Player Development Program: The PERFORM | Train to Train program is geared towards maximizing player potential in technical, tactical, and physiological aspects as they prepare for peak competitions. This high-intensity training focuses on performance, with personalized plans that leverage each athlete’s strengths and address their weaknesses. The goal is to fully establish and utilize the player’s capacities, ensuring they perform at their best when it counts the most.

At Cochrane Wolves FC, we’re dedicated to developing not just skilled soccer players, but well-rounded individuals who carry the values of teamwork, respect, and passion for soccer throughout their lives. Whether it’s introducing the joy of soccer to a toddler or refining the skills of a competitive teenager, our programs are designed to support every player’s journey.
